On Sunday 3rd of November, the Great More FM Canterbury Duck Race will enter its 7th year and the excitement is building for a day of quacking fun and fantastic prizes. This is a free family day out sponsored by Graham Consulting, Media works and More FM.

Whether you’re a seasoned duck race enthusiast or first-time participant, you won’t want to miss your chance to win some incredible rewards. There are 2 exciting races from the Bridge of Remembrance down the Avon River, past the Terrace Steps to the finish line at the Hereford St Bridge. Harold the Giraffe will be visiting and there will be face painting for the kids. This fun community event raises funds to support Life Education Trust Canterbury and the Healthy Harold Programme.

Graham Consulting Corporate Duck Race

Race 1 - 1:00pm

Our race sponsors Graham Consulting will host the Corporate Duck Race. Businesses and organisations from across Canterbury have the opportunity to support our key annual fundraising event through the purchase of a large corporate duck for $350 +gst. Ducks can be decorated on brand to represent their business or organisation. Each duck will compete to win one of 3 prizes for first, second and third place as well as a prize for the best dressed duck. All proceeds will directly support the Health Harold programme in Canterbury Schools.

Community Duck Race

Race 2 - 1:30pm

Hundreds of small ducks will be launched into the Avon River in the race to win one of three amazing prizes.

Participating in the Duck Race is as easy as can be. Simply purchase a duck (or a flock) and watch as it competes for the chance to win some incredible prizes. The $10 ducks are sold online prior to the event and will also be available for purchase on the day.

This is a fun way for the community to support Life Education and the Healthy Harold programme.

Please note: to make this a sustainable event ducks are not available to keep and are re-used each year.
