Home / Wear Yellow for Harold
Wear Yellow for Harold Day is a national celebration of colour, community, and care. Each year, thousands of tamariki, schools, and businesses across Aotearoa come together to celebrate Harold and support the vital work of Life Education.
In 2026, we proudly shine the spotlight on Respect & Kindness—two values that help build strong relationships, confident young people, and connected communities.
On Friday, 19 June 2026, schools and businesses nationwide will take part in a fun dress-up day, wearing yellow or giraffe-themed outfits to celebrate Harold and show their support for Life Education.
For schools, the day typically involves children and staff dressing in yellow, raising awarenes of our them thorough activities and making gold coin donation, helping raise essential funds to support the delivery of Life Education’s programs that empower tamariki with knowledge about respect, kindness, resilience, and identity.
Businesses are encouraged to get involved in their own way—whether through staff dress-ups, morning teas, collections, workplace challenges, or creative fundraising activities that suit their team.
By taking part, your school or business will:
